The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Music Technology is an intensive and exciting 2-year course, delivered by highly-qualified teaching staff.
This qualification has a strong practical basis giving students the opportunity to develop their personal potential and acquire a wide range of practical skills which will support further study or entry into employment in relevant industries. The course makes extensive use of BOA’s excellent resources including state of the art Pro-tools equipped recording studio and a Mac-based editing suite. This is a specialist programme and is aimed at students who already have a passion for and experience of music technology.

How is the course structured?
The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Music Technology consists of 14 specific skill units over 2 years. The units contribute to the final overall grade awarded at the end of the course. The units take between a half term and a full term to complete and one or two are usually taught in parallel.
How will I study?
The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Music Technology will provide a variety of learning opportunities including group and individual work in performance, production, engineering, live sound design and composition.
BOA works in partnership with a range of industry partners providing students with opportunities to work with professionals and benefit from their experience and expertise, further enhancing their vocational skills.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment for this course will be based on evidence collected in student log books, written reports, presentations, recorded material (both audio and video) and observations. Three units are assessed in supervised assessment tasks which are marked externally by Pearson.
